This demonstration led by Teri Thomas and Lori Leonard will help you answer these questions about how to decorate your pottery pieces:
How do I know what to use?
What is the difference between all the options?
During this session, Teri and Lori will explain the various decorating options available for your pottery projects. Specifically, they will cover underglaze, Stroke & Coat, and slip. Their aim is to help you understand the unique characteristics of each technique and guide you in determining which option best suits your creative vision.
Underglaze: Involves applying color, patterns, detail and design to a clay piece before applying a clear glaze. Underglaze can be applied to both greenware or bisque ware.
Stroke & Coat: A highly versatile, pigmented ceramic glaze known for its vibrant, opaque finish. Stroke & Coat can be applied to both greenware or bisque ware.
Slip: Offers a range of possibilities for adding several different colors and/or textures to the surface of your greenware pottery.
Teri and Lori will also provide several samples of finished pottery. These examples will visually demonstrate the differences between each product and show you how your choice can influence the final look of your decorated piece.
